The Algarve's Ricardo Teodósio became Portuguese Champion of Ralis today, the 2nd of November, at the end of Rallye Casinos do Algarve in 2nd place overall. The Guia driver, playing at home, got a title he had very close to winning a year ago and that he had been looking for for a long time.

The duo Ricardo Teodósio/José Teixeira (Skoda Fabia) did not need to be faster than the winners of the Algarve rally, the team formed by Bruno and Hugo Magalhães (Hyundai i20) to secure the absolute title.

Entering the ninth and final competition of the championship, Teodósio led the overall standings with 140,44 points, against 132,38 for second-placed Bruno Magalhães. After finishing the first day of this Rallye Casinos do Algarve in third position, the Algarve driver managed to rise today to 2nd place, guaranteeing the necessary points to win the championship.

Last season, Ricardo Teodósio was very close to winning the championship, also in the Algarve. After finishing the first day at the top of the leaderboard, the Guia rider was fastest on the second day of the race, but he broke his engine and was left out.

This time, Theodosius got revenge and brought a title of Champion of Portugal to the Algarve, something that hadn't happened since 1987.

This was the first champion title conquered by Ricardo Teodósio, in a year in which the Algarve driver achieved two victories and three second places in the races that made up the calendar.
