250 athletes representing eleven clubs participated in the 5th Lagoa Swimming Trophy that took place on November 2nd and 3rd, 2019, in the municipal swimming pools.
The competition, organized by Câmara de Lagoa in partnership with Lagoa Académico Clube (LAC) and the Association, received athletes over 12 years old, federated in the modalities of Pure Swimming and Adapted Swimming. It was organized by the Municipality of Lagoa in partnership with Lagoa Académico Clube (LAC) and the Algarve Swimming Association.
Câmara de Lagoa emphasizes that the LAC swimming team registered 127 new personal records and obtained, in the end, third place.
This trophy was mainly attended by clubs from the Algarve, «but also other well-known national teams, such as Sporting Clube de Portugal and Sport Algés e Dafundo», highlights the local authority in Lagos.
Before closing, at the end of the morning of Sunday, November 3rd, the awards were presented by representatives of the three partner entities in the organization.
«Promoting the practice of physical activity in general, swimming in particular, competitive sports in the municipality of Lagoa, as well as socializing between participants and valuing sports associations, were the objectives of the 5th edition of the Lagoa Swimming Trophy» , concludes the Chamber.
