Toy is the main attraction of the 26th edition of the Festa da Castanha, promoted by the Parish Council of Marmelete, which takes place again in this village in the Serra de Monchique, on the 1st of November.
The party starts at 15:00, with the beginning of the magustos, where the chestnuts will be roasted and offered to those who want to go to Marmelete. An hour later, Grupo Tojgatune and Fernando Mário act.
At 17 pm, merit diplomas will be delivered to the best students in the parish.
After XELB's performance, the Academic Tuna of the Jean Piaget School of Health (17:30 pm), at 18:00 pm, the night's star, the singer Toy, takes to the stage.
At 19:30 pm, the dance begins with Ricardo Laginha, which will take place indoors and last through the night.
To accompany this strong dish of nuts and music, there will be stalls with drinks and snacks from the region, pork on a skewer, bread and steaks, medronho and honeydew, regional sweets and animal game.
"This initiative has attracted, from year to year, a growing number of visitors and aims to remember the traditional chestnut magustos, which, at this time, used to be made using the carqueja, a small shrub, which was exuberant throughout the Parish of Marmelete", he stresses the Junta, which organizes the party.
