Physical theater in the “Attic” is shown to students at the Ermida de Guadalupe

Project is part of DiVaM – Dynamization and Valorization of Monuments

“Sótão, SA”, a physical theater show, aimed at students of the 1st and 2nd cycle of basic education, takes place this Thursday, October 23, at 10:00 am, at the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, in Raposeira ( Vila do Bispo).

This is a pedagogical, educational and community project, based on the collection of oral tradition from communities in the western Algarve, expressed in movement and revealed in scenic language.

It's a journey to memory – of the word, of riddles, rhymes, tongue twisters – through the characters Zelosa and Caresa, the employees of Sótão SA, an immaterial goods company, whose mission is to recover lost documents that otherwise they would be doomed to disappearance.

The show, with collective creation and interpretation by Joana Melo, Rita Rodrigues and Paulo Santos, audio and costumes by Paulo Santos, lighting design and operation by António Ribeiro, sound design and sound operation by Pedro Correia and production by Maria João Alcobia, will feature with the participation of students from the 2nd cycle of the EB 2.3 School of S. Vicente (Vila do Bispo).

This project, a partnership between TEL- Teatro Experimental de Lagos and CASEAR – Creation of Theater Documents, is part of the program of DiVaM – Dynamization and Valorization of Monuments – an initiative of Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.
