Portimão: Baby and wife are injured in a car fall in a ravine

Victims were transported to Hospital de Portimão

A 2-year-old baby and a 35-year-old woman were injured this afternoon when the car in which they were following crashed into a ravine of about 5 meters in the Rasmalho area, in the municipality of Portimão.

Richard Marques, commander of the Fire Department of Portimão, told the Sul Informação that the two victims "suffered minor injuries and were transported to the Hospital."

The official also explained that, "initially, means were sent to carry out a technical rescue by ropes, but a tactical vehicle managed to reach the car, through the bush, to help the victims."

The alert for the accident, which happened on a road connecting the EN266 and the Senhora do Verde road, was given at 14:06 pm.

In the relief operations, 17 operators and six vehicles from the Fire Department of Portimão and GNR were involved.
