Portimão hosts the Adapted Sailing European Championship

At the end of each race day there will be a social program

The Adapted Sailing European Championship takes place from the 7th to the 12th of October, at the Marina de Portimão.

The competition will feature the participation of around 120 athletes representing 12 countries, within the scope of Portimão – European City of Sport 2019.

The races will take place over the five days between 11am and 00pm, and are divided into four classes – Hansa 18 Singles, 00 Doubles, 2.3 Singles and Liberty.

At the end of each day of competition there will be a social program, where athletes, support teams, staff and guests can enjoy a sea food and recover energy for the following days.

«This is one of the biggest challenges ever taken on by an organization in Portuguese lands with regard to adapted sailing, in an undertaking that will have the support of 50 staff and volunteers, in addition to a very good sea and land logistics. complex”, underlines Maria Nobre de Carvalho, from the association Teia D'Impulsos, co-organizer of the competition together with the Yacht Club of Marina de Portimão.
