October at the Lagos Library rhymes with cinema, books and health

Activities follow each other throughout the month

Cinema, book presentations and sessions dedicated to health. The Lagos Library has an October program dedicated to children and adults. 

The activities begin on October 5th (15:30 pm), national holiday, with the screening of the film “Furar o Contract”, a joint work of activist João Camargo, local farmer Ângela Rosa and former oil industry employee Laurinda Seabra , who will talk about the controversial issue of the presence of oil and gas companies in the Algarve.

After the film, the audience will be invited to debate themes related to civics, economy and society.

Assiduous in Lagos, Napoleão Mira will present on October 12 (18:00) his incursion into the world of literature through the book “Olhares – Stories from India”, the result of his experience in India in two trips (2016 and 2018) and where the smells, colors and mysteries of that country of contrasts are shared.

Enriching the session, the author will also give a concert with Grafonola Voadora.

The little ones will have a wide variety of activities starting on October 19th (11:00 am) with the “Anti Rumors Workshop: What is the true color of the clouds”.

Based on the book “A Little History of the World”, by EH Gombrich, Marina Palácio will explore issues related to education and society together with the participating families.

On the same day, from 21 pm, Joana Espiñal will anticipate Halloween with another session of “A Night at the Library” dedicated to the Night of the Witches, an initiative for children between 00 and 5 years old with the aim of exploring in a way courageous the Library.

October 26th will be the busiest day of the month for the Library. Starting at 10:15 am, Ana Teresa Cruz will bring the 2nd session of the “Cycle of Music and Baby Signs for Babies and Parents”, aimed at babies between 3 and 24 months, with the theme “Meal Time”.

Then, at 11:30 am, Albina Petrolati presents the workshop “Create and dance with us on Saturday” with the aim of strengthening family relationships through creative dance.

On the same day, starting at 15:30 pm, Albina Petrolati will train teachers and interested parties through the action “Creative Dance in the school context”, providing useful tools for teaching creative dance in schools.

The 26th ends at 18:30 pm with the 2nd session of the Lecture Cycle “Saber Viver Naturally” with the author, researcher and specialist in natural therapies Sofia Loureiro. The October theme will be “Optimizing Digestion for a Healthy Life”, touching on the pertinent and current theme of healthy eating, intolerances and the digestive system.
