Two fires start five minutes apart in Aljezur

Fires rage in Rogil and Odeceixe

Two fires have been raging since around 16:30 pm today, Saturday, in the localities of Brunheira and Carvalha, in the parishes of Rogil and Odeceixe in the municipality of Aljezur, respectively.

The two outbreaks flared just five minutes apart and are being fought with the help of four aerial means.

Second revealed to Sul Informação Abel Gomes, 2nd district operational commander of the District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) of Faro, “none of the fires is threatening buildings”.

The same source pointed out that civil protection was called to fight three fires this afternoon, in the Algarve, stressing the “almost simultaneity of the occurrences”.

The most complicated situation is in Brunheira, in the vicinity of Rogil, where the fire «has two active fronts, plowing in an area of ​​forest».

Here, the flames are being fought by “two planes and a helicopter”, as well as 56 operatives, supported by 13 vehicles.

The fire that is raging in Carvalha, near Odeceixe and next to the border with the municipality of Odemira, is developing «in an area of ​​forest and populated by eucalyptus and some pine trees».

This fire is being fought by 19 operatives and four vehicles, in addition to two aerial means.

However, at 17:25 pm the fire in Odelouca, which started around 14:55 pm, which continues to mobilize with two aerial means – they reached five.
