Sport, gastronomy and culture "warm up" the Algarve in November

There are proposals for many tastes

Hiking in Lagos, the Rallye Casinos do Algarve, the Sweet Potato Festival, Bruno Nogueira and great names in national music are some of the proposals that will "warm up the Algarve" in November and which are highlighted by the Algarve Tourism Region in its guide monthly.

RTA promises “sport, good food, music and shows” during the month that starts tomorrow, in an offer of hundreds of events that can be consulted in Guia Algarve, available for download here.

In the first days of the month, the animation is made walking and driving, through the lands of the Barlavento Algarvio. From tomorrow until Sunday, Barão de saõ Jo´ão, in Lagos, hosts the hiking festival Walk & Art Fest, which proposes “environmental education activities for children and families, technical workshops, lectures, conversations and daily walks”.

Also tomorrow and Saturday, the Algarve Rallye Casinos on the roads of Lagoa, Portimão, Monchique and Lagos.

Also highlighted is the Sweet Potato Festival of Aljezur, «one of the biggest autumn gastronomic festivals in the south of the country», which starts on 29 November and continues until the first day of December. «But because this is the month chestnut, there are several events dedicated to it, such as the Mercadito da Castanha (November 2nd, Altura) and the 357th São Martinho Fair (November 8th to 17th, Portimão)», recalls RTA.

 

 

The same entity highlights the exhibition “50 years in Lagos, Portraits of Friends and Artists by Peter Jones”, which opens on the 8th and runs until the 28th (Cultural Center of Lagos), and the show “Depois do Medo”, by Bruno Nogueira, which takes place at the Cineteatro Louletano, on the 14th, at 21 pm.

In music, Tiago Bettencourt will be present at the Municipal Auditorium in Olhão (16th, at 21:30 pm) and the Carlos do Carmo Municipal Auditorium, in Lagoa, receives on the night of the 29th the concert “Aqui Está-se Sossegado”, which brings the duo Camané and Mário Laginha.

"The dance will be marked by the presence of David Pérez and Su Cuadro Flamenco, the renowned and awarded Sevillian dancer, who performs on the 22nd, at 21 pm, in the Municipal Auditorium of Olhão," added the RTA, which also recalls that November is the month Operation Montanha Verde, promoted by Zoomarine and involving various entities in the region.

As you would expect, the “365Algarve” has not been forgotten, with the Light 2019 – Algarve International Festival of Light (14th to 16th November, in Faro) and the sessions of Forgotten Food Festival – the Momentum experience – from the forest to the plate, a sensorial experience, which takes place on the 8th in Lagoa, the 9th in São Brás de Alportel and the 10th in Vila do Bispo, and the Harvesting and Cooking Routes, with a session scheduled for that day 30, in Alcoutim – to have a prominent place.

Published monthly by RTA, Guia Algarve is a bilingual publication (Portuguese and English), with a circulation of 50 thousand copies in November and free distribution in hotels, travel agencies, tourist offices, airport of Faro, rent-a-car and golf courses in the region.
