The traditional and centuries-old Feira de São Martinho will return to the Parque de Feiras e Exposições de Portimão, between the 8th and 17th of November.
This fair, which, according to the Municipality of Portimão, is going to its 357th edition – “goes back to the year 1662” – will have “traditional roasted chestnuts, snacks, popcorn, bread with sausage and other tempting snacks in bars and taverns existing in the enclosure, as well as several animation spaces with different games, bumper cars and carousels».
In 2019, the fair will once again have two themed days, in which entertainment will have special prices. On November 13th, the day is for children and young people (youth day), while the 17th is dedicated to the family (family day).
On the first day, November 8th, the São Martinho Fair can be visited from 16:00 pm to 1:00 am, while on the 9th, 15th and 16th it is open from 10:00 am to 1:00 am. Between the 10th and 14th of November, it opens its doors from 10 am to midnight. On the last day, the fair will be open from 00 am to midnight.
The Municipality of Portimão warns «the citizens who usually travel on foot or by bicycle through the Park of Fairs and Exhibitions of Portimão, to connect to the riverside area of the city, that the passage will be prohibited from 30 October to 7 November», by because of the assembly work at the fair.
On the days when the fair takes place, pedestrian access is authorized, even if «conditional on the opening hours of the fair». This passage will be banned again between the 19th and 21st of November.
"In November there will be no place for the monthly market, which will return on December 2, nor the flea market, whose frequency will then be resumed on December 1 and 15," added the Portimão Chamber.
In the same period as the São Martinho Fair, Portimão Arena will host a car exhibition for the brands Alfa Romeu, Audi, Citroën, Dacia, Fiat, Ford, Hyundai, Jeep, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Opel, Renault , Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen, and Yamaha motorcycles. This exhibition can be visited from 15:00 pm and 24:00 am on Friday and Saturday, and between 15:00 pm and 23:00 pm from Sunday to Thursday.
