Adapted football tournament brings together national and foreign athletes in Albufeira

Benfica is one of the clubs that will be present

The 12th Edition of the Algarve Adapted Football Tournament (TIFA 19) will bring together national and international teams at Estádio da Nora, in Ferreiras, Albufeira, on 27 September.

The test, promoted by {Play}la APEXA - Algarve's Association for the Support of Exceptional Persons, is a «sporting event, unique of its kind», in which more than a hundred athletes will participate.

According to the event's organizers, this will be "a day dedicated to inclusion, which in addition to enabling exceptional people to participate in an adapted sporting activity, also aims to promote and disseminate adapted sport, favor cultural exchange and provide equal opportunities for exceptional persons, with a view to the full exercise of citizenship'.

The participation of several teams has already been confirmed, including Sport Lisboa e Benfica, the selection of Calcutta (India) and the selection of Vila Nova de Gaia.

This event has the support of the Albufeira City Council, the IPDJ-Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, the Algarve Football Association, the Portuguese Football Federation, Fidelidade Seguros and Ferreiras Futebol Clube.
