Hospital Particular do Algarve provides pediatricians to CHUA to fill in the gaps

Private group helps public hospitals with this measure

Since last Saturday, September 21st, the Hospitalar Particular do Algarve, which is a private institution, is providing doctors to the Centro Hospitalar e Universitário do Algarve (CHUA) to address the failures of the public service in the neonatology service roster.

Thus, since last Saturday, the professionals of the Hospital Particular do Algarve, such as pediatricians and neonatologists, have been working on shifts of 12 or 24 hours, thus making it possible to fill the gap in this area.

This measure had already been considered by Marta Temido, Minister of Health, earlier this month, when she admitted that the possibility of resorting to «the collaboration of private entities» had not been ruled out.

According to the HPA group, this help the NHS will last "until the end of the year, with the belief that the CHUA will find a solution to resolve the limitations it presents at the level of these professionals".

«We hope in this way to contribute to the safety of children's health in the region and we trust that this support will strengthen the relationship between both institutions for the benefit of all», concludes Hospital Particular do Algarve.

The problems of the Intensive and Neonatal Medicine Service of CHUA have been the order of the day, due to the lack of doctors. O closure of the service was even considered, if there was no real good news that seems to be arriving, now, with the help of Grupo Hospital Particular do Algarve.

In addition, there was also 18 doctors who arrived at the NHS, such as the Sul Informação it's already done.
