Folar de Olhão guaranteed this Saturday, 31st of August, a place in the Grand Final of the 7 Wonders of Portugal, which will take place in Montemor-o-Velho, next Saturday, 7th of September.
This is now the only representative of the Algarve's sweets to reach the final, after Dom Rodrigo de Lagos, at last week's pre-finalists gala, got in the way.
Last night, the second semi-final of the 7 Maravilhas Doces de Portugal contest, broadcast live on RTP 1 from Ferreira do Zêzere and having as presenters José Carlos Malato and Catarina Furtado, introduced seven more sweets from all over the country , who will compete in the grand final.
Thus, in addition to the Algarvian Folar de Olhão, the remaining thirteen finalists are: Porquinho Doce, from the District of Beja, Filhós de Cabrela, from the District of Évora, Brisa do Liz, from Leiria District, Ovos Moles de Aveiro, Pastel de Tentúgal (Coimbra), Good Husbands by Ferreira do Zêzere (Santarém), Cigars from Arcos de Valdevez (Viana do Castelo), Covered Almonds from Moncorvo (Bragança) , Belly from Nreira de Arouca (Aveiro), Cock Crest from Vila Real, Threads from Monção (Viana do Castelo), Biological Honey from the Natural Park of Montesinho (Bragança) and Bolinhol de Vizela (Braga).
