Victim support association starts care in Silves

Sessions are aimed at "anyone who wants advice and support"

The Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV) will start providing assistance in Silves from tomorrow, the 17th, aimed at «all those who want advice and support».

The service sessions will take place from 9:00 am to 17:00 pm, at the CMS Social Action service, located at Rua João de Deus (next to the Parish Council), in Silves.

The arrival of APAV's service sessions in this Algarve county takes place within the scope of the National Support Network for Victims of Domestic Violence, which the City Council of Silves joined in April.

This network brings together 17 municipalities and more than 70 entities, which seek to promote, together, various values, namely "citizenship and equality, education, employment, security forces, justice, social reinsertion, health and social security", according to the Chamber of Silves.

«The intention of the creation of this network is that the entire territory of the Algarve can have specialized assistance responses to victims of violence against women and domestic violence, with APAV being one of the managing entities of this work. Likewise, it will seek to invest in awareness and prevention, in order to reduce this type of situation in the Algarve region», added the municipality.
