João Vieira woke up thinking he was “he was 20 years old”, went to the 50 km march of the World Athletics Championships in Doha with redoubled determination and ended up with the silver medal.

This is the best result of the career of the Algarvian walker, who is 43 years old and thus achieves the feat of being the oldest athlete to win a medal in Athletics World Championships, all events included.
