Albufeira puts people with physical disabilities to practice sports

The “Adapta-te” program aims to “promote health and well-being, improve self-esteem and encourage the practice of physical activity in the population with disabilities”

People with physical limitations and disabilities from various parts of the Algarve will participate in another edition of the “Adapta-te” program, which will take sports and leisure activities designed especially for this fringe of the population to the Parque Lúdico de Albufeira, in the morning of the day October 4th.

The initiative will feature a fitness circuit, with adapted dance and capoeira, as well as a snack to promote interaction between participants and employees.

This will be the 4th edition of “Adapta-te”, a program promoted by the Municipality of Albufeira «with the objective of promoting health and well-being, improving self-esteem and promoting the practice of physical activity in the population with disabilities». according to the municipality.

 

 

The event will be attended by users of various Private Institutions of Social Solidarity (IPSS) in the region, Day Centres, Occupational Centers and Special Education Units in the municipality, «in a fun, inclusive experience that takes into account the individual capacities of the participants".

Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Albufeira, APEXA – Association for the Support of the Exceptional Person of the Algarve, NECI – Nucleus for the Education of the Unadapted Child, CRACEP – Cooperative for Re-education and Support for the Exceptional Child of Portimão, Existir – Association for Intervention and Rehabilitation, CAA – Learning Support Center (Units) of Francisco Cabrita Schools, EB2,3 Ferreiras, EB1 dos Caliços, ASMAL – Algarve Mental Health Association, ACASO – Cultural and Social Support Association of Olhão, António Silva Leal Foundation and AHSA – Albufeira Solidarity Humanitarian Association are the institutions that will be present.

This year, «for the first time, the Casa do Povo of Messines will collaborate with a small musical participation by the Batucada Orchestra».
