Accident entering Lagoa causes long lines on the EN125

Accident caused two minor injuries

An accident involving four vehicles and which resulted in two minor injuries is causing severe traffic constraints on the EN125, at the entrance to Lagoa, towards Portimão-Faro, from around 9:00 am.

Contacted by Sul Informação, the District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) of Faro revealed that this accident "resulted in two minor injuries, who were both transported to the hospital" and that restrictions on circulation were maintained at around 9:45 am.

The accident took place on the descent towards the roundabout at the entrance to Lagoa, in the area of fixed radar that exists there. Despite the fact that there are two traffic lanes at this location, the accident led to long queues forming, which reached up to two kilometers and extended almost as far as the bridge over the Arade river.

Until the situation is resolved, drivers can alternatively use the old EN125, crossing Estômbar, if coming from the Portimão side, via the EN125, or opt for the Lagoa Norte exit, instead of the Lagoa Sul/Carvoeiro node, for those coming from Silves or the A22.

In response to this accident, 13 operational workers were involved, supported by five vehicles, from the Lagoa and Portimão Fire Department and the GNR
