The ESTAR Festival – Theater Meetings and Street Animation will liven up the summer, in Vila Nova de Milfontes, in the municipality of Odemira, on the 20th and 21st, and then take a leap to Odeceixe, between the 22nd and 24th of August.
This theater and street animation initiative «covers various artistic areas, puppet theater, storytelling, stilt theater, object theatre, clown and juggling, itinerant animations, among others», according to the Câmara de Odemira.
In Vila Nova de Milfontes, in the two days of the event, four shows will be presented, two a day, always in São Clemente Fort.
On the 20th, at 22 pm, Rudolfo Castro kicks off the festival with the show “The worst storyteller in the world”. This is followed, at 00:23, with the performance of José Ramos, who will present the play “O Intérpido Silva”.
On the 21st, Jorge Rocha will star in a musical performance, at 22 pm, and the festival ends with the show “La Kermesse”, by Ale Risório, scheduled to start at 00 pm.
This is followed by the passage through Odeceixe, in the following three days.
On the 22nd of August, the action of the festival begins on the sandy beach, with the performance “For Seixe above, let's be there!”, at 16:30 pm.
This will be followed at 19 pm, with the performance “A Verde”, at the Miradouro, and the puppet theater “A farsa do sapateiro”, at Largo, at 00 pm.
On 23, the beach viewpoint hosts the show “O Intérpido Silva”, followed by Jorge da Rocha (22:00 pm Largo), Teatro D. Roberto (22:30 pm, Church) and “La Kermesse” (23:00 pm, Largo)
The last day of the festival starts with the concert “Pouca Terra” at Kioske Agapito and continues with the show “Clássicos Eccentrics” (22:00 Largo), “The worst storyteller in the world” (22:30, Church), an itinerant batukada de Santuka (23:00, Largo) and the closing party, with the DJ My life gave a soundtrack (00:00, Grupo Desportivo).
ESTAR, promoted by Mãozorra Cultural Association, is an entirely free cultural event that seeks unique public spaces to promote various theater performances and other street animations.
«Articulated with the routines of tourists and inhabitants, the shows seek to intersect and provide moments of spontaneous entertainment in the public space», concluded the Chamber of Odemira.
