Loulé has “Conversas com…” pilots Carlos Sousa and Miguel Farrajota

Café Calcinha is once again the stage for a conversation with personalities from the world of sports

Carlos Sousa, one of the great names of off-road motorsport in Portugal, and the driver from Loulé, Miguel Farrajota, are the next guests of “Conversas com…”, which takes place tomorrow, Thursday, at Café Calcinha, in Loulé, at 21 pm.

An all-terrain motorsport driver, Carlos Sousa has several participations in the demanding Dakar Rally, some with the late José Megre, in which he got a 4th place, in 2003, when this race was still taking place in Europe and in Africa.

Miguel Farrajota, from Loulé, had his only participation in a Dakar Rally in 2000, in Dakar-Cairo, on a motorcycle, «where despite his inexperience in this type of race, he kept a good pace», according to Loulé City Council, that promotes the “Conversations with…”.

“He suffered a serious fall in the 6th stage, but managed to recover and reach Cairo. He finished the rally in 14th place overall. With a record full of titles on two wheels, Farrajota then started a career on four wheels», added the municipality.

“Conversas com…” is a project that aims to bring to Loulé «figures linked to sport, who come here to tell their stories, many of them authentic life lessons, also making known a little bit of each of these personalities who were or continue to be to be the flags of the Algarve, national and international sport».

This year, coach Manuel Cajuda and the most medaled athlete in the world, Lenine Cunha, were already in Loulé.

Admission is free and has the presentation and moderation of journalist and communicator Neto Gomes.
