Fragoso and Esturrado defend Portuguese colors at the Superbike World Championship in Portimão

Vasco Esturrado is an Algarvian pilot from Loulé

Portugal, despite not having representation in the Superbike and Supersport 600 classes, will have two riders competing in the crowded and very close Supersport 300 category, when the World Championship passes by the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, in the first weekend of September.

Between the 6th and the 8th of September, Pedro Fragoso and Vasco Esturrado will be the two Portuguese in competition and will fight against world rivals to find a place on the starting grid for the race in the category with the most drivers in the championship.

Fragoso already competed in the category in 2018, at the controls of a KTM RC390R, with the colors of Miguel Oliveira's Fan Club, but in 2019 he will be on track with a Yamaha, he who has successfully participated in the Swiss Cup R3, single-brand competition with the Yamaha motorcycle and where Fragoso is, in every race, one of the candidates for victories.

Vasco Esturrado will mark the return of a pilot from the Algarve to the peloton, succeeding Miguel Praia in this completely different challenge.

With roots in Loulé and school Of the Algarvian speed, Esturrado will have his first experience in the World Championship peloton, betting on his knowledge of the track and on his most recent results in the domestic championship in order to at least qualify for the race.

It won't be an easy task, in a peloton with about 60 drivers, where everyone's first objective is really to get a seat for the race.
