The Pestana Alvor Praia Hotel, where the President of the Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa was staying, was robbed in the early hours of this Sunday, around 00:40, by a hooded man, who entered the hotel reception, threatened employees and took 240 euros with him. that were in a safe.
The episode was denounced, in a statement, by the Zero Movement, which brings together PSP agents and GNR soldiers.
Second the Correio da Manhã, the occurrence was confirmed by a source from the GNR and also by a source from the Pestana Group, who said it was “a simple theft without recourse to weapons”.
According to the same source, cited by the newspaper, no guest was aware of the robbery.
The advisor to the President of the Republic also told Correio da Manhã that, this Sunday night, the Head of State was no longer in the hotel unit.
