The Câmara de Lagoa advises against bathing in the boiler of the mill at Sítio das Fontes, in Estômbar, due to the decrease in the flow of water at the site, given the lack of rain.
«In order to avoid the stagnation of water in the mill boiler, the floodgates are frequently opened, in order to promote greater renovation. This operation does not guarantee, however, a water quality compatible with recreational use, so bathing activities are not recommended», warned the Lagoa City Council this Wednesday.
All this is due, according to the autarchy, to the prolonged lack of precipitation. The normalization of the situation should only happen "from the next rains, depending on the precipitation that may occur".
"If the lack of rain persists in the coming months, it is not expected that this situation will change", warns the Câmara de Lagoa.
