The Vila Real de Santo António City Council joined Algar's recycling campaign “In the Algarve, be the Algarve, separate!”, whose objective is to encourage the use of recycling bins and call for the selective separation of waste by residents and visitors to region during the summer.
The municipality of Vila Real is going to join the action through the concession of various advertising media in the municipality.
«For an Algarvian, going to the Ecoponto means preserving their land, since the recyclable materials that can be sent for recovery are not deposited in landfills. It also represents a reason for regional pride, especially due to the quantities of recyclables sent annually, per capita, by each Algarve, compared to the values presented in the other regions of the country», states the Chamber of VRSA.
It is «the pride of the Algarve in the face of the good results of recycling» that is focused on in the campaign and that serves as a basis for the appeal made to visitors «to go to the eco-point during their holidays, showing that in the Algarve they take themselves very seriously the recycling issue'.
