Loulé Chamber launches new tender to build Quarteira Multipurpose Pavilion

Work will cost 7 million euros

Loulé City Council launched a new tender for the construction of the multipurpose sports pavilion in Quarteira, which was published in Diário da República on 31 July. The municipality will invest around 7 million euros in the work.

The new contest was launched after, in September of last year, no bidder has submitted a proposal to do this work, included in an international competition, worth 12 million euros, which combined, in two different lots, the work of the EB 2,3 D. Dinis School and the so-called “Pavilhão Gimnodesportivo de Quarteira”, to be built at the rear of the establishment education.

«None of the competitors submitted a proposal for the construction of the pavilion, or of the two contracts together, having thus, until now, only started the construction of the school», explains the Câmara de Loulé.

The new tender, which has international advertising, was approved at a Chamber meeting on July 3rd and, since its publication in the Diário da República, a deadline of 75 days has been set for the submission of proposals. The contract has an expected execution period of 21 months, counting from the award date.
