Quarteira will have a new BMX track

The tradition of BMX in Quarteira dates back to the early 90s

Quarteira will have a new BMX track, next to the António Aleixo Community Centre, in an investment of close to 600 thousand euros.

The signing ceremony for the assignment of the BMX Track is this Tuesday, July 2nd, at 9:30 am.

«Located in an urban land next to the António Aleixo Community Centre, this track aims to respond to a sport that has seen strong development in the parish over the last 20 years, with a growing number of practitioners», says the Câmara de Loulé.

The tradition of BMX in Quarteira dates back to the early 90s, and the current track dates back to 1998. For about ten years, BMX in Quarteira was represented by the club Radical Juventude de Quarteira and, after its extinction, the infrastructure was under the aegis of Asas da Cidade – BMX Team.

The work will have an execution period of 540 days.
