Military personnel in the Armed Forces are supporting fire prevention

There are 15 Armed Forces patrols (12 from the Army and 3 from the Navy), totaling 60 soldiers, in this initiative

This Thursday, the 11th of July, and Saturday, patrols by soldiers from the Armed Forces are engaged in ground surveillance and patrol actions in the Algarve and Baixo Alentejo. 

This reinforcement follows the request for support from the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) to the General Staff of the Armed Forces, with the aim of increasing prevention actions throughout the country, with special focus on districts of Beja, Évora, Faro, Portalegre, Santarém and Setúbal.

In total, there are 15 Armed Forces patrols (12 from the Army and 3 from the Navy), making up 60 soldiers in this initiative.

This reinforcement follows the request for support from ANEPC to the General Staff of the Armed Forces, with the objective of increasing prevention actions throughout the country, with special focus on the districts of Beja, Évora, Faro, Portalegre, Santarém and Setúbal.

The Armed Forces personnel will be engaged in ground surveillance operations, but, if necessary, they may be engaged in post-result actions or in general support to the protection and relief operations that may be triggered.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces, through its liaison officers to the District Relief Operations Commands, continuously monitor the evolution of the operational situation.
