Joana Schenker wins 3rd place in the Bodyboard World Championship in Chile

Athlete from Sagres is now focusing on the 3rd stage, which will be played at Praia Grande, in Sintra

The Algarve bodyboarder Joana Schenker finished the 2nd stage of the World Bodyboard Circuit, the Antofagasta Bodyboard Festival, in Chile, with a 3rd place.

According to the Sagres Bodyboard Association, the club to which the athlete belongs, «Joana was strong throughout the championship, passing all stages in 1st, making some of the highest scores», but «she ended up being eliminated in the semi-finals, in the final moments of the battery, by the current world champion, the Japanese Ayaka Susuki», who won the championship.

“I am very pleased with the start of the World Tour in Chile. I felt that I was surfing well and with rhythm in the Chilean waves. Unfortunately I made a mistake in the final moments of the semi-final, which cost me my presence in the final. Anyway, I'm very happy to bring another podium to Portugal. I am now returning home, with the focus on the next stage, which will be in Sintra, in September», said Joana Schenker.

The 3rd stage will be played in Portugal, at Praia Grande, from 10th to 15th of September.
