A fire has been raging since 17:30 pm, «with great intensity», near Cachopo, in Serra do Caldeirão, municipality of Tavira.
Abel Gomes, second district operational commander, told the Sul Informação that the fire is “consuming an area of pine forest”, already close to Cachopo.
Although there is still no indication of how many fronts are active, "the situation is worrying, as in all fires", said the same responsible to our newspaper.
Five aerial means have already been activated. In the fight against the flames there are also 112 operational and 25 vehicles.
