Arménio Carlos, general secretary of the CGTP, will be present at the regional hotel strike, on August 1st.
The CGTP leader will participate in the demonstration that is called for 16 pm on the same day at the headquarters of the Hotel Union, in Faro.
«At a time when tourism continues to grow and break records, bosses refuse all union proposals that aim at a better distribution of wealth, namely the recovery of the purchasing power lost in recent years and the sharing of profits by workers, the improvement of working conditions, the end of precariousness, of unregulated hours, the correct payment of holidays and work breaks», accuses the Union.
This position of the bosses is "unacceptable" and, therefore, the Union of Hotelaria do Algarve decided to go ahead with the call for this strike. form of convergent struggle, to allow workers to take to the streets to demonstrate their discontent.
