Luísa Sobral will sing stories in Loulé

Luísa Sobral is the first guest, this Tuesday, June 4th, at 21 pm, of “Pessoalíssima”, a cycle of musical gatherings, at the Auditorium of Solar da Música Nova, in Loulé. 

In this initiative, Luísa Sobral will be invited to «revisit themes that marked her path and share stories and curiosities around them», explains the Câmara de Loulé.

Luísa Sobral is one of the most important composers and singers of the new generation of Portuguese musicians. He debuted in 2011 with the edition of “The Cherry on My Cake”, an album well received by the public and critics.

This was followed by “There's A Flower In My Bedroom” (2013), with guests like Jamie Cullum, António Zambujo and Mário Laginha, “Lu-Pu-I-Pi-Sa-Pa” (2014) where he expands his universe outwards the aesthetic limits of his first two albums, and “Luísa” (2016), which was recorded in Los Angeles by the prestigious North American producer Joe Henry.

In 2017, he composed “Amar Pelos Dois”, the winning theme of the Eurovision Song Contest, performed by his brother Salvador Sobral.

At the end of 2018, he edited Rosa, his fifth original album. For the production invited the Catalan Raül Refree, one of the most prestigious Spanish producers and multi-instrumentalists.

In addition to voice and guitar, Luísa Sobral and her producer favored classical instruments: a trio of winds and classical percussion.

«This is your most personal, mature and intimate album. The beauty of the compositions is highlighted by the simplicity of the arrangements and the creative complicity between Luísa and Refree», says Câmara de Loulé.
