Navy ship “Sagittarius” returns to the Algarve for a new commission

Ship returns to Algarve four years later

The Navy's rapid inspection boat “Sagittarius” is back in the Algarve, for a new commission, four years after having been deployed in the region.

The ship will be in the Southern Maritime Zone until August, where it will perform "missions in the scope of maritime search and rescue, surveillance and patrol of maritime spaces and support to other State departments with powers at sea for the repression of illegal activities", he revealed the Portuguese Navy.

The Sagittarius NRP returns to the region after "a period of maintenance, having subsequently carried out an Operational Training Plan in order to raise its standards of operational readiness".

This ship has an eight-member garrison and is commanded by Second Lieutenant Costa Dias.
