Muralha de Lagos receives conservation works

Work in progress costs 80 thousand euros

The Lagos Wall is receiving conservation works. The works in progress will recover the eastern section of the Medieval Fence, which faces the Jardim da Constitution, and include the Torreão da Ribeira, the two Torres Albarrãs at Porta de São Gonçalo, the fabric between the first turret and the Castle of the Governors , the south façade of the Governors castle and its Revelim.

The works, under the responsibility of the City Council, will cost around 80 euros and have an execution period of 120 days.

The contract for painting the maintenance and conservation of the wall section at Rua da Barroca, which cost around 47 thousand euros, is now nearing completion.

The two works are part of the General Plan for the Intervention of the Walls (PGI) which, in addition to these 'priority interventions, provides for a set of other structural interventions aimed at the preservation, rehabilitation and enhancement of this important structure
of built military heritage», explains the City Council of Lagos.
