Lagos receives a course in Management of Hostels, Guesthouses and Accommodation Establishments

Training is aimed at entrepreneurs, investors and professionals operating in this area

Lagos hosts, on the 29th and 30th of May, an intensive course on Management of Hostels, Guesthouses & Accommodation Establishments.

The new course of the Training Academy of the Hotel Association of Portugal (AHP) will also take place in Lisbon on the 21st and 22nd of May (already sold out). On the 3rd and 4th of June, the city of Porto will be the stage for this initiative.

Developed and designed by AHP, this course is based on an assessment of the real needs of this accommodation offer.

For the Hotel Association of Portugal, not all Local Accommodation (LA) is the same and it is necessary to distinguish collective accommodation establishments from other specific and isolated realities.

«Hostels, Guesthouses and Accommodation Establishments are totally different business realities from those who explore a house or an apartment in AL. We are talking about types of accommodation with specific needs, in many ways similar to hotels», comments Cristina Siza Vieira, from AHP.

“That's why we set up training that meets these modalities, providing entrepreneurs, investors and professionals with a broad knowledge of this business, both for those who already operate in it and for those who plan to develop their economic activity in it”, he adds.

The course, open to AHP members and non-members, lasts a day and a half (12 hours of training), distributed over six training modules, from the Legal Framework and Tax Obligations to Revenue Management, passing through Management, Marketing and Service.

The trainers include João Espanha, partner of Spain e Associados, SL, head of the AHP Tax Support Office, Bernardo D'Eça Leal, managing partner of The Independente Collective Group, Marta Sotto-Mayor, global marketing and sales director from the same group, Octávia Sá, administrator of Guesthouse Casa Belmonte, Henrique Henriques, specialist in Revenue Management, and Cristina Siza Vieira, CEO of AHP.

The number of places per location is limited and registration includes, in addition to training modules, teaching materials and issuing certificates with the Hotelaria de Portugal seal.

The training is aimed at entrepreneurs, investors and professionals who operate in this area or who wish to develop their activity in it.
