73-year-old man dies run over by a train in Portimão

Circulation on the Algarve Line has already been re-established

A 73-year-old man died this morning in the Coca Maravilhas area, in Portimão, being hit by a train on its way to Lagos-Faro.

Source of the District Relief Operations Command told the Sul Informação that the alert for the occurrence was given at 7:25 am. The Algarve Line was cut, but was re-established at 9:25 am.

22 firefighters from Portimão, PSP, Infraestruturas de Portugal and INEM were involved in the operations, supported by 10 vehicles. The Judiciary Police were also called to the scene.
