UAlg students receive merit awards from Caixa Geral de Depósitos

There are six awarded Algarve students

Six students from the University of Algarve (UAlg) were awarded the “Caixa Mais Mundo” merit awards, worth 1500 euros each, during a ceremony that took place on Monday at the Grand Auditorium of the institution's Gambelas Campus, in Faro.

The awards, given by Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD), refer to the 2018/2019 school year.

The six UAlg students, three from undergraduate and three from higher technical professional courses, were selected for the best application grade.

"These awards aim to encourage higher education attendance and contribute to territorial cohesion, through the fixation of young people, and to the pursuit of the Portugal 2020 goals, in relation to the number of higher graduations", according to UAlg.

In this edition of the initiative, a total of 40 prizes were awarded to the best students from several Portuguese Higher Education Institutions.

At the ceremony on the 13th, the two institutions renewed the cooperation protocol they have maintained since 1997.
