Victims were in Hungary under the Erasmus + program

A 10th grade student at the Pinheiro e Rosa School, from Faro, died this Friday at dawn in a road accident in Hungary, where he was with other colleagues on an exchange, under the Erasmus+ programme. Another student from the Algarve was injured and "was hospitalized", he told the Sul Informação Francisco Soares, director of the Faro School Group.

According to the Chamber of Faro, who has already publicly expressed her grief, the student who died is Laura Angélica Bragança.

The other four students from Pinheiro e Rosa who participated in this exchange experience «all are well». The students involved are all in the 10th year, that is, "they are 14 or 15 years old".

The bus carrying the six Pinheiro e Rosa students and other participants of this Erasmus+ meeting collided with a truck on the way to Budapest airport.

The head of the Pinheiro e Rosa grouping is currently in Poland, where he had to make a stopover on his trip to Hungary. “I'm currently trying to take care of the necessary procedures. If I can unlock everything from here, I won't travel to Hungary anymore and I'll go back to Portugal right away», he explained.

Without hiding his dismay – “I'm still very shaken, I can't tell you much” – Francisco Soares revealed that psychological support for the victims' families has already been activated.

“That is our priority. Later, we will also extend it to students and teachers», said the director of Pinheiro e Rosa.
