Portimonense beat Feirense by 1-0 in a game counting for the 31st round of the I Liga, played this Saturday at Municipal de Portimão. This victory makes the Algarvians very close to guaranteeing their permanence in the I League.

Achieving 36 points in the championship was, moreover, the focus of the Algarve team in this match. Feirense, on the other hand, entered the field already condemned to relegation, but that wasn't why they made it easy.

The Portimonense entered bossy in the game and spent a lot of time in the opponent's midfield. Still, submission situations were scarce.

The game took a long time to unravel and the home fans showed some impatience, but after 31 minutes everything was easier for the Algarve. Tiago Gomes went all out on Tabata and left his sole imprint on the Portimonense player's back, earning him the straight red.

Shortly after, at 37, Tabata was again in the spotlight, scoring the goal for Portimonense. Aylton Boa Morte climbed up the left side of the Algarve's attack, crossed to the center of the area and the Brazilian player from Portimão's team headed into the back of Caio Secco's net.

The break was approaching and everything seemed to be going well for Portimonense, who came very close to making the second in the 41st minute. But, even over 45, referee João Capela expelled Aylton Boa Morte for an entry on Briseño, a decision much contested by the home team.

Feirense came back bolder from the dressing room, thanks to the entry of striker João Silva, but could not create real danger, despite having more ball than in the first half.

Portimonense, on the other hand, managed the advantage, but did not relinquish the attack. Moreover, it was the Algarve who created the most dangerous situations in this period of the game.

It was necessary to wait for the final minutes for Feirense to really scare the home team, but Ricardo Ferreira, Portimonense's goalkeeper, managed to resolve the situation with some good saves.

With this victory, Portimonense goes on to add the desired 36 points, which practically guarantee the maintenance of the Algarve in the XNUMXst League, with three games to go before the end of the championship.
