April takes photography and orchids to the João de Deus House-Museum

In addition to exhibitions, the 9th Meeting Around the Orchids will take place

Photography and orchids will be highlighted in the April program of Casa-Museu João de Deus, in São Bartolomeu de Messines.

From yesterday, Monday, and until the 13th, the exhibition “Um Novo Boudoir”, by Carolina Gomes, can be visited.

«This young photographer is a student at the Gil Eanes Professional School, in Portimão and takes an artistic and professional approach, in the “boudoir” style, often identified as a vintage photographic record that portrays the woman through sensual and elegant photography and to which the young woman comes to give a new look, with the introduction of male models», according to Câmara de Silves.

On the 13th, in addition to the inauguration of the exhibition “Wild Orchids – a secret in the rural landscape – SB Messines”, which brings together photos of Messinesian Pedro Mascarenhas and Cláudia Cabrita, the 9th Meeting Around the Orchids will take place at Casa-Museum João de Deus.

The program for this day includes a guided tour of the space, starting at 10:00 am, with the exhibition also opening at that time, with the reading of poems by João de Deus by the Penedo Grande Theater Group, the performance of the Grupo Coral da Casa do People of São Bartolomeu de Messines and the communication João de Deus – A Portuguese Literary Legacy, by Hélia Coelho, official of the municipality.

At 11:30 am there will be a lecture “Orchids and other Indigenous Wildflowers of Southern Portugal”, by Alfredo Augusto M.
