Number of beds in the Algarve Continued Care Network increases

Care provision was renewed in 14 of the 18 inpatient units

The National Network of Integrated Continued Care in the Algarve now has a total of 535 beds in the region, which is higher than what existed.

The signing of the program-contracts within the scope of Integrated Continued Care took place this Wednesday and Friday, 6 and 8 March, at the headquarters of the Regional Health Administration (ARS) of the Algarve, renewing the provision of care in 14 of the 18 inpatient units.

Four Medium-Term and Rehabilitation Units, three for Convalescence and five for Long-Term and Maintenance, within the scope of the National Network of Integrated Continued Care in the Algarve, renewed their program-contracts with ARS Algarve, thus increasing the response capacity in the region through an addition of six inpatient beds at the Estoi, Olhão and Stª Catarina da Fonte do Bispo Units.

The signing ceremony was attended by Paulo Morgado, president of the Board of Directors of ARS Algarve, Margarida Flores, director of the District Center of Faro from the Social Security Institute, Fernanda Faleiro, coordinator of the Regional Coordination Team for Integrated Continued Care in the Algarve, and representatives of each of the Inpatient Units.

The Algarve currently has 74 beds for convalescence, 139 beds for Medium-term and Rehabilitation internments and 322 beds for Long-term and Maintenance internments.
