58 groups from the Algarve need your vote, until March 29, to be finalists in the “Heróis da Fruta” contest.
APCOI – Portuguese Association Against Childhood Obesity has already presented the 824 videos created by the thousands of students from the classes that participate this school year in the 8th edition of the project «Fruit Heroes – Healthy School Snacks».
In this fun competition, children interactively share the lessons about nutrition and health they have learned over the past few months and invite all Portuguese people to choose and vote for their favorite video.
Voting, open to the entire public, takes place until 10:00 am on March 29 here and it will select 100 finalists: the three most voted and the two with the most likes on Youtube, from each district or autonomous region.
Mário Silva, president and founder of APCOI and mentor of the “Fruit Heroes – Healthy School Snack” project, recalled that «each vote in any video of the fruit heroes reverts as a donation to “Missão 1 Kilo de Ajuda”, our fund which allows us to offer fruit free of charge in schools, supporting the inclusion of fruit in the school lunches of the most needy students in the country».
The official added that “all the people who vote for the videos of the fruit heroes will also be able to win fantastic immediate prizes. There are more than three thousand experiences to choose from for festivals, water parks, zoos, museums, aquariums, living science centers and amusement parks».
