Algarve goes to “Mundo Abreu” to wink at Portuguese tourists

This is the largest national event for advance travel sales

The Algarve Tourism Region (RTA) will make known the tourism offer in the region and try to attract (even more) Portuguese tourists at the “Mundo Abreu” fair, which takes place on 6 and 7 April at FIL – International Fair Lisbon.

In focus will be not only the offer of Sun and Sea in the region, but also nature tourism, health and well-being, culture and gastronomy and wines.

«This year, the Algarve region intends to surpass the 15% increase in the number of reservations for the Algarve achieved in the previous edition of the largest national fair for advance travel sales. The good results obtained in 2018 led the Algarve to be one of the main regions contributing to Portugal being in 1st place in the ranking of the ten best-selling destinations», according to RTA.

For this entity, the presence at this event “is especially relevant for the reinforcement of the attraction of national tourists to the region”. In 2018, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics, «in 2018 the Algarve recorded the highest growth rate in overnight stays from national tourists (9,9%) and in the first month of 2019 there was an increase of 10,4, XNUMX% in overnight stays».

In this year's edition of «Mundo Abreu» the Algarve will have a stand where all the tourist information, guides, maps and gifts of the region will be available. The fair takes place in Pavilion 4 of FIL on the 6th (from 10:00 am to 22:00 pm) and on the 7th (from 11:00 am to 20:00 pm).
