Small markets return to the village of Odeleite

Crafts and local food products are some of the market's attractions

“Mercadinhos na Aldeia” will return to Odeleite as of Sunday, at 10:00 am, next to Casa de Odeleite. Crafts, regional sweets, artisanal goat cheese, homemade jams and vegetables are some of the products that can be found in this market, which are always repeated on the first Sunday of each month.

In addition to the sale of local products, visitors can also experience the bread making workshop and the weaving workshop, which continue to take place at Casa de Odeleite.

«The “Mercadinho na Aldeia” was born from the desire to give a new dynamism to the interior of the municipality of Castro Marim. Allied to the enhancement of the territory and its endogenous resources, is the promotion of the Casa de Odeleite and the revitalization of its original concept, since this unique space was, in the first decades of the XNUMXth century, an important trading post and the richest house in the parish, selling essentially dry fruits, such as carob, almonds and figs, but also olives and cane baskets, from the hills around the village», summarized the Chamber of Castro Marim.
