The Cumeadas association will be financed in 20 thousand euros by the Alcoutim Council, to carry out fire prevention and agricultural and forestry cleaning actions during 2019.
The renewal of the protocol that the autarchy already had with the Association of Forest Owners of Cumeadas do Baixo Guadiana was approved this Wednesday, at a Chamber Meeting.
According to the Alcoutim Chamber, the 20 thousand euros will be “invested in preventive forestry actions, to reduce the risk of fires, in fire surveillance actions and support for combat (first intervention, aftermath and surveillance actions), as well as in actions to raise awareness among the populations and collaboration in the organization of days and events».
Cumeadas, noted the Alcouteneja autarchy, "has provided important support to forestry producers in Alcoutenejos, in particular with regard to monitoring applications for single agricultural applications as a way to monetize their land."
Based in the village of Pereiro, the association's intervention area is the entire municipality of Alcoutim and two parishes in the municipality of Castro Marim (Azinhal and Odeleite).
Its main mission is “to boost sustainable investment, seeking to streamline development projects”.
«Cumeadas is, today, a partner in the defense of the forest and its resources and in the management and planning of its territory», concluded the Chamber of Alcoutim.
