Chamber and businessmen promote Albufeira at the Salon des Vacances in Brussels

With more than 350 exhibitors and 800 different destinations, this Salon des Vacances is one of the biggest events of its kind held in this part of Europe

Albufeira Town Hall and APAL – Albufeira Promotion Association jointly participated in the Salon de Vacances in Brussels, an event that receives around 100 visitors every year.

This is yet another of the actions agreed between the municipality and APAL to promote the destination in markets with growth potential. The event took place between the 7th and the 10th of February.

With more than 350 exhibitors and 800 different destinations, this Salon des Vacances is one of the largest events of its kind held in this area of Europe, to publicize a multitude of tourism and travel offers and conduct business associated with the sector.

Accommodation, experiences, nautical activities, culture and gastronomy were highlighted at the Albufeira counter, which captivated the curiosity and interest of many of the visitors to the Salon.

About 70% of visitors are over 50 years of age, a factor considered of great importance to define the line and contents associated with this participation.

Various institutional contacts were also promoted, namely with the delegate of Tourism from Portugal to Belgium and Holland, João Rodeia, with the aim of finding new ways of promoting and enhancing Albufeira in these markets.

The Belgian market is in the Top 10 nationally in terms of visitors and overnight stays, with potential for growth in terms of the bathing season, but also at other times of the year, where gastronomy, mild weather, culture and heritage can captivate more visitors.
