The Alcoutim Chamber is going to renew the cooperation agreement that has allowed the municipality's Youth Hostel to remain open throughout the year.
Under the agreement, whose renewal was approved at the Chamber Meeting of yesterday, February 13, the alcouteneja municipality commits to allocate a sum of 30 euros to Movijovem, the entity responsible for managing the national network of Youth Hostels.
In return, the municipality receives “an annual package of accommodation reservations that can be used in any unit of the national network of youth hostels”, in addition to avoiding the seasonal closure of the hotel unit.
"The measure thus aims not only to prevent the closure of the inn, but also to provide citizens and their families, within the scope of initiatives promoted by the municipality, access to privileged accommodation conditions that provide greater mobility, thus encouraging cultural exchange and tourism”, according to the Alcoutim Chamber.
The mayor of Osvaldo Gonçalves underlines "the importance of the Youth Hostel in the territory", hotel equipment that he considers to be "fundamental for its touristic, recreational, sporting and youth components".
