As of this Monday, February 18th, there are over 100 electric scooters circulating in Faro. After of the company Voi, Flash scooters come into operation today.
According to the company, this is “a new electric mobility solution with a friendly vision of public space and attentive to the urban planning of each city”.
Flash guarantees that “it will promote civic behavior and encourage correct parking, and is currently the only brand to indicate the correct scooter parking areas on its app».
The price for using Flash scooters is similar to that of Voi, a company that has been operating in the city since February 11th. In other words, unlocking scooters costs 1 euro and their use is charged at 15 cents per minute.
However, users of these scooters can have a bonus, since "to encourage correct parking, Flash also promises to give a discount of 50 cents on total trips if the user parks in the designated areas".
The company also guarantees that “no scooters will be left behind”, since Flash “already has a local company at its side that will be responsible for loading the scooters on a daily basis, checking the safety of each of them and putting them back on. the next day in the parking areas designed by the City Council of Faro».
During the presentation of the Shared Mobility Plan of Faro, Felix Petersen, general director of Flash in Portugal, stated that «our responsibility now is to contribute to facilitating mobility in the city, because we want to be one of the alternatives to our own vehicle, for tourists, for students at the University of Faro and for the rest of the city's population».
