Grande Rota do Guadiana has new guide and promotional video

Associação Odiana took advantage of its presence at Fitur, in Madrid, to launch the two promotional products on the route.

The Odiana association launched a promotional video and a guide for the Great Route of the Guadiana (GR15) at Fitur – Madrid International Tourism Fair, which began on Wednesday and runs until Sunday in the Spanish capital.

The association that brings together the municipalities of Vila Real de Santo António, Castro Marim and Alcoutim took advantage of its presence in what is one of the most important European tourism fairs to promote its potential in the field of Nature Tourism, namely for hiking.

The guide now launched was made with the visitor and hiker in mind and is available in several languages. «This is a useful and practical product, which reflects the various dimensions of the GR15, encompassing the natural and cultural heritage that accompany the essence of this route», according to Odiana.

The guide of the Great Route of the Guadiana can be downloaded by following this link.

The promotional video aims to make known the richness of the Alcoutim, Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António municipalities, using the GR15 as a central and unifying element, as it calls for walks along this route. It has three minutes and is subtitled in six languages – Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, German and Dutch.

«Both promotional products already reflect the extension of the Grande Route to the limit of the municipality of Alcoutim with the municipality of Mértola in the Vascão area, where we find the border between the Algarve, to the south, and Alentejo to the north. The journey is now 78,5 kilometers long, divided into five sectors, with the possibility of continuing to the town of Mértola, covering more than 100 kilometers," added the association.

The launch of the GR15 video and Guide, as well as the participation of Baixo Guadiana in the Ftur event, are actions integrated in the “Promoturis” project, financed by the CRESC ALGARVE2020 Operational Program.
