FNAC is looking for New Talents and this year it has many new features

Registration is free and open until April 19

“Show yourself to the World” is the motto of the new edition of the New Talents FNAC contest, which will reward young national artists passionate about Cinema, Writing, Photography and Music.

In the Cinema category, a short fiction or animation film with a maximum duration of 8 minutes is required to be submitted to a competition.

In Escrita, an original literary tale with a maximum of 3 words, in Música, a track of an original song, and in Photography, a portfolio of at least 12 original photographs.

Registration is free and open until April 19th.

Entries can be submitted on FNAC Portugal's Facebook and the winners will be announced at the end of May, at the “Novos Talentos FNAC 2019” awards ceremony.

The big news this year is the inclusion, in partnership with Repsol, of a monetary prize for winning projects in the cinema, writing and photography categories.

In the case of Music, this support means the production of a single by the winning band with mixing, recording, mastering and production included.

In addition to this reinforcement, last year's awards are maintained: in Music, the four awarded bands have their theme incorporated in the album NOVOS TALENTOS FNAC Música 2019 and the winning project also receives the production of a video clip, as well as a performance at the festival FNAC LIVE 19.

In Escrita, joins the creative writing workshop, by the school Writing, Writing, for the winner and the publication of the four best stories in the book Novos Talentos FNAC Escrita 2019.

In Photography, Fujifilm offers gift cards on FUJIFILM X photographic equipment and all featured projects will see their work displayed in the FNAC forums.

In the Cinema category, the winners will see their short films shown publicly and the winner also has access to a workshop offered by Universidade Lusófona.

The jury panel maintains the quality of previous years, and, in the Writing category, Afonso Cruz is now joining João Tordo, Dulce Maria Cardoso and Conceição Garcia.

In the remaining categories there are no changes to be noted. In Photography, Mário Cruz, Augusto Brázio, Francisco Feio and Sérgio B. Gomes will analyze the works.

In Music, decisions are made by Henrique Amaro, Lia Pereira, Luís Oliveira and Rui Miguel Abreu. In the Cinema category, the choices will be made by Paulo Trancoso, João Canijo, Paulo Viveiros and Margarida Cardoso.

“It is with great pleasure that we announce the 17th edition of the New Talents FNAC program, an initiative that makes us so proud and that allows us to continue supporting and providing a stage for national talent. The merit of this program is also due to the magnificent panel of judges that accompany us and the partners and media partners, who have helped over the years to make this dream a reality. We want to continue to attract new talent and help them get where they want.” explains Inês Condeço, Communication director at FNAC.

FNAC's partners in this year's edition are: Repsol, Fujifilm, Writing Writing, IPF, Universidade Lusófona, Antena 3, Magazine HD, Olhares and Sapo.
