Video games will be created in less than 48 hours at the ETIC_Algarve Global Game Jam event, taking place over the weekend of January 25th to 27th, on the school premises, in Faro.

This is «a worldwide event in which, simultaneously in various spaces around the world, video games will be created within this two-day deadline», explains ETIC_Algarve.

The “activity allows participants to create new professional ties and put their artistic skills and programming skills to the test”.

As in the last Game Jam, which took place in the summer of 2016, ETIC_Algarve will host a maximum of 100 participants with access to all the necessary technology and resources.

And, despite being a moment that will give wings to the creativity of students from various areas of education at the school, such as sound and music, design and, of course, video games, it is a moment open to the public, also aimed at professionals and curious people who share this fascination for creating innovative content.

This event will also start with the participation of Isaque Sanches as a speaker in a masterclass on the theme of exploring and creating videogames, maintaining the relaxed and informative spirit of the well-known “Conversas com Lábia”.

The digital entertainment industry is an ever-expanding area, with more than €110 billion being consumed worldwide in video games and related products during 2018.

«ETIC_Algarve positions itself at the forefront of training dedicated to this market in the South of the country and this event reveals itself as yet another affirmation of the existence of quality creatives and technicians in the region», says Nuno Ribeiro, director of ETIC_Algarve.

Registration is free and can be done. on here, although places are limited to 100 participants.
