Children and young people from Tavira make animation shorts to promote the Mediterranean Diet

Initiative aimed at raising awareness of the Mediterranean lifestyle

Young people and children from Tavira participated in an Animated Image Workshop on the Mediterranean Diet and made films, where they make known the Mediterranean lifestyle, through new information and communication technologies, namely audiovisual animation.

During the initiative, participants had the opportunity to learn audiovisual animation techniques, but also to learn more about Mediterranean culture and its importance.

With the knowledge acquired, eight animation shorts were created: “Olive Oil”, “Chameleon”, “Healthy Lifestyle”, “Mediterranean Heritage”, “Orange Honey”, “Bread”, “The Tuna”, “The Fisherman".

Children and young people were also able to “experience flavors and aromas, having even got their hands dirty”, according to Câmara de Tavira, which organized the initiative, within the scope of the Mediterranean Diet All Year program.

The program “Tavira all year round with the Mediterranean Diet” was co-financed by CRESC Algarve 2020 – Regional Operational Program for the Algarve, Portugal 2020 and the European Union, through the FEDER – European Regional Development Fund.
